The use is claimed of inositol triphosphate (IP3) for prepn. of a medicament effective against conditions attributable to or caused or aggravated by the presence of Pb, Hg, Ni or Cr in the body. - IP3 is of formula (I) where three A=OH and three A=OPO3(2-); X=H and/or at least one univalent, divalent or multivalent cation; n=no. of ions; and the charge of the respective ions. Pref. n=6-1, esp. 3-6; and z=1-6, espl 3, 2 or 1. - Specifically, IP3 is D-myo-inositol -1,2,6-(or 1,2,5- or 1,4,5-) triphosphate, L-myo-inositol -1,3,4-triphosphate, or myo-inositol -1,2,3 -triphosphate. |
