The bars have undercut grooves and end-threaded bores for screws to fix a first holder to the profile bar. This holder engages the groove on a second bar so one holder leg engages the undercut part from behind. The holder (22) is fitted with pre-set play onto the first bar (10a), and takes up this play when it engages the groove (12) in the second bar (10b). The holder is bored right through and threaded in this for a screw (28) which thrusts at one end on the first screw (20), so that one holder leg (34) is pressed so hard against the web part of the undercut (32) that the holder fixes the two bars to one another. Pref. holder material is 42 CrMo 4 steel. ADVANTAGE - Holder locked into bars grooves for firm joint without holes in the bars so these retain full strength.
