<p>A simplified retractable needle hypodermic syringe is provided which includes a barrel (102) having a needle carrier (114) mounted therein with a cannula (108) attached thereto. A slidable plunger (104) is mounted within the barrel (102) which includes a shaft and hub (120) for locking to the carrier (114). The plunger seal (118) is conveniently mounted about the shaft between the plunger (104) and the hub (120). A removable safety cap (106) is provided to cover the upper end of the plunger (104) and the barrel (102) to prevent accidental depression of the plunger (104) and engagement of the hub (120) with the carrier (114) before use.</p> |
