PURPOSE:To reduce a rise in the temperature of the coolest point due to generated heat from a lighting device, and prevent a drop in luminous efficacy. CONSTITUTION:In an electrodeless discharge lamp device, an induction coil 3 is wound near a light transmissible airtight vessel 1 with discharge gas sealed, and high-frequency current outputted from a lighting device laid within a device body 5 is supplied to the coil 3, thereby generating inductive magnetic field. This field is used to activate and make luminous the discharge gas. In addition, the device comprises separate circuits of a block A to generate less heat, and a block B to generate more heat. Also, the circuit block A is housed within the device body 5, and the circuit block B in a case 8 separate from the body 5. Both blocks A and B are connected to each other via a cable 9. |
