摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To enhance the accuracy of measurement of unit friction by applying a gradually increasing motor current during the measurement of the friction, and using as a value corresponding to the friction a value obtained by subtraction of a motor current value measured at the detection of motor angle from one measured at the detection of actual steering angle. CONSTITUTION:A motor steering unit c which use an electric motor (a) and a speed reduction mechanism (b) as actuators is provided to rear wheels alone or both of front and rear wheels and the angle of rotation of the electric motor (a) is detected by a motor rotary angle detection means (d) and also the actual steering angle of the wheels is detected by an actual steering angle detection means (e). During the measurement of friction a motor current which gradually increases from zero is supplied to the electric motor (a) by a motor current supply means (f) and a first motor current value measured when the angle of rotation of the motor is detected and a second motor current value measured when the actual steering angle is detected are set respectively by a first (g) and a second (h) motor current value setting means and the difference between the motor current values is computed by a friction measuring means (i) and the current value difference is used as a value corresponding to unit friction.</p>
