PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a coated metal sheet by using a coating composition which can stably form a beautiful orange peel coating film having an undulatory shape with a uniform wavelength even when the viscosity of the composition varies or even under varying baking conditions. SOLUTION: A coating composition prepared by incorporating at least two kinds of resin particles different in average particle size into a polyester-, polyuretane-, or epoxy-based coating material is used for undercoating and/or topcoating. Preferably, resin particles the average particle size of which is largest are thermoplastic, and the average particle size (D1) of resin particles the average particle size of which is largest, the average particle size (D2) of resin particles the average particle size of which is second largest, and the dry coating film thickness (H) satisfy formula (1): D2/D1<0.7 and formula (2): 0.5
