PURPOSE:To provide a structure and method of formation of the title terminal electrode capable of settling the problems of thick electrode and the dimensional variation (los dimensional precision) of the electrode as encountering with the conventional ceramic capacitors. CONSTITUTION:An inner electrode 12 is formed in a ceramic made main body 11. One the sides of the main body 11 and at least one surface (upper surface) out of four surfaces connecting to the sides are sputtered, three layer structured terminal electrode 13 comprising the first outer electrode layer 14 made of a metal having a bond strength to ceramic, the second outer electrode layer 15 made of another metal having a good solderability and the third outer electrode layer 16 made of another metal having a solder wettability is provided by sputtering, evaporation or plasma-spraying. Through these procedures, the three layer structured terminal electrode 13 can be formed into a thin film (about 1-3mum thick). |
