The wheel has a metal wheel hub (2) fitted with a tyre (3) of a resilient plastics material. Its running surface rolls along a metal rail. The tyre has an insert (4) provided by electrically conductive wires which extend between the running surface and the metal wheel hub (2). Pref. the insert is in the form of a brush with the bristles (5) extending radially relative to the tyre and pref. provided by brass wires. ADVANTAGE - Allows discharge of electrostatic charges.
