The head has concentric rotating rim plates recessed to hold the conveyed bottles using a two position rotor to roll the plate round into the next turret position in response to scanner signals such that all plate mounted bottles are aligned as they reach the next turret position. Guides (16) on each plate (12) should ride a guide surface (40) fixed concentric to the turret (10) so as to keep their plate in the selected rotated position relative to the turret. Guide elements fitted to the plates close up gaps in the guide surface (40) only when the bottles (1) are correctly aligned in the first plate setting so that plate moves in without turning. Otherwise with incorrect bottle attitude the guide element fails to make contact with the plate guide (16) so the rotor engages the plate and turns it into its next setting round the turret etc.. USE/ADVANTAGE - Bottling etc. plants. Automatic bottle alignment between first and second plate positions guards against de-alignment by strict plate rotation control.
