<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the influence of an external noise and to reduce the power consumption by employing a noncontact system for signal transmission for automatic power source startup operation between an optical interface box and a portable data terminal. CONSTITUTION:An optical interface box 1 generates a magnetic force by feeding electricity to a primary coil 5 provided at a specific position of a casing by a switching means 8. In a portable data terminal 2, an electromotive force is induced across a secondary coil 6 coupled electromagnetically with the primary coil 5, rectified by a rectifying circuit 9, and sent to a gate circuit 10, so that the electricity is fed to a digital circuit through the operation of the gate circuit 10. Thus, the electromagnetic induction by the primary coil 5 and secondary coil 6 is utilized for the signal transmission to turn on the power source of the portable data terminal 2 and the transmission between the optical interface box 1 and portable data terminal 2 is performed by the noncontact system to eliminate mechanical contacts.</p> |
