PURPOSE:To obtain a camera capable of photographing by an external flash even when an internal flash is not charged yet. CONSTITUTION:This camera is provided with the built-in flash 50, an external flash attaching means capable of attaching the external flash 38, a flash photographing detecting means which detects that flash photographing is selected, a built-in side charging completion detecting means for detecting the completion of the charging of the flash 50, and a release inhibiting means which inhibits release while the built-in side charging completion detecting means does not detect the completion of the charging, and it is also provided with an external side charging completion detecting means for detecting the completion of the charging of the flash 38, and a release inhibition releasing means for releasing the release inhibiting means regarless of the detected result by the built-in side charging completion detecting means when the flash photographing detecting means detects that the flash photographing is selected and the external side charging completion detecting means detects the completion of the charging. |
