The present invention relates to new derivatives of the bicyclic amino acids of the formula III (a) or III (b) III(a) III(b) in which the hydrogen atoms on the carbon atoms 1 and 5 have the cis configuration in respect to one another and the group -CO2W on carbon atom 3 is oriented exo or endo with respect to the bicyclic ring system, and in which W denotes hydrogen or a radical which can be eliminated with acid, and to their salts and to a process for their preparation.
