<p>PURPOSE:To provide a knitted carpet of esp. high density causing virtually no wrinkles or debonding on the fabric in bonding a backing material, thereby ensuring selvage cutting for said fabric after bonding to be needed at a level of only up to several centimeters. CONSTITUTION:A carpet fabric with relatively high density knitted with a double raschel knitting machine and put to center cutting is dyed, steamed, washed, and dried while framing it with e.g. a pin-type tenter; and while maintaining the resultant tensioned state, a backing material is continuously bonded to the back surface of the fabric, and after bonding, the resulting carpet is put to finishing such as raising, brushing or shearing.</p> |
