The file accommodates perforated documents, having two hinging covers (7,8), between which a movable lug (10) is formed, supporting the attachment. One cover at least is in two layers joined together, the lug being formed on the inner layer. One or both covers can have on the inside an insertion pocket (61,65) data sheets etc. which do not have to be secured in the file. The two layers can together form the pocket, there being an insertion slot in the inner one. The file can be made of a single sheet, folded and glued to form the layers. ADVANTAGE - Is sufficiently stable to allow storage upright, and is simple to produce.
