PURPOSE:To promote the rearrangement reaction of an oxime by the use of a specific catalyst and to obtain an amide by the rearrangement of an oxime under liquid-phase condition at a mild reaction temperature. CONSTITUTION:An amide is produced by the rearrangement of an oxime (preferably a cyclic oxime such as cyclohexanone oxime) under a liquid-phase condition at a mild reaction temperature (usually about 20-150 deg.C, preferably about 30-100 deg.C) usually in a solvent (preferably N,N-dialkylformamide) in the presence of a catalyst consisting of N,N-disubstituted formamide diacetal of formula (R1 to R4 are 1-6C alkyl, 6-9C phenyl or substituted phenyl) and a strong acid such as sulfuric anhydride, fuming sulfuric acid, phosphorus pentoxide, trifluoroboron etherate, perchloric acid, fluorosulfonic acid, heteropolyacid, alkanesulfonic acid, trifluorosulfonic acid, benzenesulfonic acid, toluenesulfonic acid and sulfonate-type ion exchange resin. |
