A method for producing a bottom slab 6 for a building comprises stages in which the slab 6 is cast on a bed 3, 5 with the aid of edge elements 12 on a base 8, 10. Support arrangements 9 with inner and outer legs 11, 17 are placed at the edge of the slab 6, and the edge elements 12 are placed between the legs 11, 17 and fixed. The inner leg 17 is cast, while the outer one is removed after casting. A support arrangement 9 for carrying out the method has a bottom part 10 which rests on the base 8 and which bears the edge element 12, and inner and outer legs 11, 17 which extend upwards from the bottom part 10, with a space between them.
