PURPOSE:To carry out lighting operation with a desired lighting pattern of a flashing light based on the conditions of such as the kind of the airplane, the landing speed, the range of view, etc., and guide the airplane for landing safety. CONSTITUTION:Among a plurality of flashing lights L1-L9 located at the prescribed positions in rows from the end of a runaway, ones in the prescribed order are selected property in groups and the lighting patterns A-E of respective selected groups of flashing lights are made and the flashing lights L1-L9 continuously operated while the prescribed lighting pattern A-E is designated.
