Hard disc drive controller for personal computer - has access time reduced using transputer based control processor operating with multiple parallel channels

The hard disc controller produced as a plug in unit (1) to a standard bus, has two I/O channels connecting with hard discs (A1-A7, B1-B7). Each I/O channel is independent and has a 32 bit SCSI processor. The data transmission rate are 5-6 M byte/s. The disc controller has a RAM Cache memory (4), a RAM controller (5), DMA controller (6), control processor (7) based upon transputer technology. This connects with an operating system (8). Data and communication channels (I-IV) provide fast parallel transfers with the transputer system. ADVANTAGE - Reduced access time for hard discs.
