PURPOSE:To correctly translate a composite word without registering the composite word in a dictionary by forming the translation of the composite word. CONSTITUTION:A morpheme analyzing part 1 executes morpheme dividing processing or the like by means of a dictionary 5. A syntax analyzing part 2 obtains the information of an individual word and forms tree structure in accordance with a grammatical rule 6. At that time a part to be translated as a composite word is detected and processed by syntax analysis. A syntax conversion part 3 converts the tree structure of an input language into the tree structure of an output language. A morpheme formation part 4 translates the obtained tree structure in each note by means of a formation rule 7. Thus translation information corresponding to composite words is registered in the dictionary or another information storing part, a composite word in an original is recognized and the translation of the composite word is formed from the translation information of the composite word. |
