Partitions in a paint spray booth (100) are adjustably coupled to a grated ceiling (112) of the booth (100) and extend to preselected heights above a grated floor (128) of the booth (100). The adjustable partitions (122, 124) define a paint spray application zone therebetween wherein air flow rate between the ceiling (112) and the floor (128) of the booth (100) is chosen for optimum paint transfer and overspray removal efficiency, while air flow between the partitions (122, 124) and the booth outer walls (160, 161) may be much lower to conserve investment and running costs. Air flow reducers (110a, 110b), such as adjustable perforated plates, are positioned on the grated ceiling (112) above the low rate air flow spaces between the partitions (122, 124) and the outer walls (160, 161).
|
