This relates to an adapter of the kind including a socket part (10A), suitable for receiving the plug of the electrical appliance to be connected, and a plug part (10B) suitable for being engaged into the corresponding power-outlet socket. According to the invention, the socket part (10A) and the plug part (10B) each individually form separate parts which are capable, if required, of being solidly joined to each other by disconnectable securing means.
