PURPOSE:To enable accurate plate working by reducing dead zones which cannot be worked, increasing the working range, and dispensing with re-gripping during working. CONSTITUTION:The present plate working machine moves a laser head 8 relative to a work piece W gripped by a work holder 13 to work the work piece W and includes a trace calculation means, a determination means, and a work holder control means. The trace calculation means calculates the trace of the laser head 8 against the work piece W before working one block. The determination means determines whether or not the trace calculated by the trace calculation means interferes with the work holder. The work holder control means controls the position of a plate when gripped, depending upon the results obtained by the determination means. |
