PURPOSE:To generate a line pressure accurately corresponding to input torque to abrasion element in an automatic transmission so as to maintain a specified torque transmitting capacity of the abration element and prevent any increase in pump driving loss of an engine and generation of large speed change shock caused by a line pressure increasing beyond a required level by estimating output torque of an engine accurately. CONSTITUTION:An air charging efficiency is calculated by an intake air quantity detected by an air flow sensor 12, and engine speed detected by an engine speed sensor 32. Engine torque is estimated based on the air charging efficiency, engine speed and an ignition timing, and also a control unti 30 which outputs a control signal to an oil pressure control circuit 23 is provided to generate the line pressure which corresponds to the engine torque. |
