BUFFER CIRCUIT FOR CELL EXCHANGE

PURPOSE:To secure the priority of a priority cell of a cell having priority and to reduce the probability when a non-priority cell is aborted. CONSTITUTION:A share circuit 1 divides an input cell into a priority cell and a non-priority cell based on priority information of a cell header part and stores them into a priority cell buffer 2 and a non-priority cell buffer 3. A control circuit 5 measures a delay of a cell in the priority cell buffer 2 and the non- priority cell buffer 3 and changes a rate of output from the priority cell buffer 2 and the non-priority cell buffer 3 to control read from the buffer and changeover of a selector 4. Thus, the delay quality of the priority cell is satisfied and the abort rate of the non-priority cell is reduced by varying the rate of the cell outputted from the priority cell buffer 2 and the non-priority cell buffer 3 based on the discrimination of the control circuit 5.
