MANIFESTATION OF MATURE HOMME PDGF-B IN COLIBACILLUS

Recombinant vectors which encode mature human PDGF-B and E. coli bacteria transformed with such vectors are provided by this invention. These bacteria lack the lon protease (lon<->) and the heat shock regulatory factor htpR (htpR<->). Also provided are methods for using such transformed bacteria to make unglycosylated, biologically active, mature human PDGF-B.
