PURPOSE:To easily and quickly produce expandable particles having desired size and shape by stirring, mixing and heat-granulating an emulsion-polymerized vinyl chloride resin, a suspension-polymerized vinyl chloride resin and a compounding agent using a fluid mixer and classifying the granules. CONSTITUTION:The objective expandable particle is produced by stirring, mixing and heating (A) a principal component composed of an emulsion-polymerized vinyl chloride resin and a suspension-polymerized vinyl chloride resin at a weight ratio of preferably 20:80 to 100:0 and (B) a compounding agent consisting of (B1) 0.1-10wt.% (based on the component A) of a foaming agent, (B2) 30-150wt.% of a plasticizer, (B3) 0.5-5wt.% of a stabilizer, (B4) 0.1-10wt.% of titanium oxide as a white colorant and optionally (B5) a mildew-proofing agent, a filler, a flame-retardant and other colorant using a fluid mixer at 60-120 deg.C and a rotational speed of 200-2,000rpm, granulating the charged mixture by cutting to granular form from pasty state through a semi-gelatinized state and finally classifying the granulated product to collect the fraction of 12-150mesh. |
