PURPOSE:To provide a stone material having excellent water repellency and stain resistance, taking advantage of the fine appearance on the surface of a stone material as it is by providing the surface of the stone material 1 though a siloxane bond with an alkyl fluoride group-containing chemical adsorption membrane. CONSTITUTION:A stone material 1 such as marble is immersed in a diluted solution of a surfactant such as heptadecafluorodecyltrichlorosilane, an unreacted substance is removed by cleaning and an alkyl fluoride group-containing chemical monomolecular film is formed through siloxane bond on the surface of the stone material. The surface of the stone material 1 is provided with the alkyl fluoride group-containing monomolecular film through siloxane bond.
