<p>PURPOSE:To always add optimum delay time while being applied to a change in the fluctuation distribution of a network as well by always monitoring the rate of abandonning a cell receiving data over fluctuation absorbing width at a reception terminal, changing and optimizing the fluctuation absorbing width based on the information in the case of transmitting data in an ATM system. CONSTITUTION:A fluctuation absorbing buffer 101 temporarily stores the cell transmitted from the ATM network according to the data transmission of the ATM system, and the controller of the fluctuation absorbing buffer reads the cell in a receiver 102. A controller 106 calculates 103 the rate of abandonning the cell, compares 104 it with a reference value and executes control to decrease the fluctuation absorbing width when it is smaller than the reference value or to increase the fluctuation absorbing width when it exceeds the reference value.</p> |
