PURPOSE:To avoid the waste of sheets by setting the difference between the clocked time and set time and that between the set time and clocked time as the comparative time, and determining whether to have a paper feed interval according to the positive/negative value of the comparative time. CONSTITUTION:At the time of paper supply from a cassette, sheets are conveyed in the direction of carrier rollers 5 by the driving of a cassette paper feed roller 3, and the carrier rollers 5 are driven simultaneously with stop of the paper feed roller 3 so as to feed the sheets into a first carrier path 6. At the time of hand-operated paper feeding, sheets are sent sheet by sheet by a feed roller 8 into a feed path 9. The paths 6, 9 join at an intersection on the extended lines. A sensor 10 is provided in front of resist rollers 11 so as to judge the paper feeding state by the on-off action of the sensor 10. The time of the conveyed sheet passing a specified position is clocked by a timer and stored into a computer, and the clocked time and the set time preset in a storage means are compared with each other by an arithmetic means. In the case of positive value, sheet conveying action from the second sheet on is continued, and in the case of negative value (small sheet), paper feeding action is performed at paper feed interval of the comparative time part. |
