The invention relates to a suspended ceiling which consists of at least one ceiling panel 7 which can be turned down around its edge and is suspended by means of its two opposite edges 8, 9 on mutually parallel bearing profiles 1, 2. The bearing profiles 1, 2 are fastened in a basic ceiling or a wall 3, 4. According to the invention, the two suspension edges 8, 9 of the ceiling panel are, in cross section, in the form of U shapes open towards one another. The two bearing profiles 1, 2 have an upwardly free longitudinal bearing arm 5, 6. The distance between the bearing arms is smaller than the distance between the bottoms of the U-shaped suspension edges 8, 9 of the panel, but greater than the distance between upper arms 10, 11 of the U-shaped suspension edges 8, 9. <IMAGE>
