PURPOSE:To provide a simple configuration distance measuring device, which can measure distance over the whole specified region on a screen, has a high preventive effect for missing portion, and allows long distance measurement with high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:Light projecting/receiving lenses 1, 2 and an IRED 4 and PSD 5 are held at a rotary retaining frame 6 rigidly, wherein the IRED and PSD are positioned oppositely to the respective lenses 1, 2, and also are installed another IRED 7 and light projecting lens 3 which is a fixed light-projecting means mating with the retaining frame 6. This frame 6 is rotated, and a distance measuring value is obtained through scanning of the object concerned with a distance measuring optical system in the frame 6, while another distance measuring value is obtained through distance measuring with the PSD 5 and the light for distance measurement given by the IRED 7. A definitive distance measuring value is selected among these two values obtained, and this is specified. |
