A hygienic and easily sterilizable door with a frame part 1 and a covering layer 2 on top of the latter. The door has a frame part 1 made of suitable, plate-shaped material and a covering layer 2 in the form of polyurethane sprayed onto the frame part. The cavities necessary for hinges, lock and other fittings have been cut out of the frame part 1 of the door and, during spraying of the polyurethane layer 2, finished recesses and openings have been formed, by using cores or shaped parts, in such a manner that there is a uniform polyurethane layer 2 on the frame part 1 around all the cavities, recesses and openings 3-5. <IMAGE>
