The system comprises bar hinged on nodal members between a parallel folded position close together, while they are lockable in an extended, erection position. In the fully unfolded working position, the nodal members (26) are in a common plane and form a grid pattern with an even number of polygons. In the partly unfolded working position they define two parallel planes, as they are situated alternately in the two members (10,12) in each polygon. In this position, the nodal members in one plane are held stationary by a connecting or stiffening member.
