Described is a mixing tool for mixtures of solids or individual solids. The tool is fixed to a shaft (11) located inside a horizontal container (12) so that the shaft is concentric with the container. The shaft (11) is fitted in the container (12) so that it can rotate. Several mixing tools (10) can be fixed at intervals along the shaft. The mixing tools (10) extend out radially towards the inside wall (13) of the container and end a short distance from the inside wall (13) of the container. Each mixing tool (10) has a first mixing element (15) and a second mixing element (16) which are mounted on an arm (14) one behind the other in the direction of rotation. The ends of the mixing elements (15, 16) nearest the inside wall (13) of the container have cut-out sections (19, 19', 19'', 20, 20'). The cut-out sections (19, 19', 19'') in the first mixing element (15) are staggered with respect to the cut-out sections (20, 20') in the second mixing element (16). When viewed from the front, the projecting sections (21, 21') of the first mixing element (15) mask the cut-out sections (20, 20') of the second mixing element (16).
