<p>PURPOSE:To provide a polymeric gel easy to preserve and transport, excellent in handleability, to be used as a biocatalyst-immobilized form for use in bioreactors, waste water treatment, fish farm water system purification, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective polymeric gel with a water content of <=20wt.% such as of polyvinyl alcohol satisfying the respective conditions: (a) becoming a hydrous gel B >=50wt.% in water content by immersion in water at 20 deg.C for 24hr; b becoming a hydrous gel D >=50wt.% in water content by immersing in water at 20 deg.C for 24hr a polymeric gel C <=20wt.% in water content which has been obtained by drying said hydrous gel B; and (c) -20 to 20% in the dimensional change rate of the hydrous gel D to the hydrous gel B.</p> |
