The invention relates to an arrangement for controlling and blocking a switchgear, preferably remotecontrolled switchgear, in dependence on the grid state data by feeding-in an external voltage, and an evaluating circuit connected thereto, with reference and actual value. A pulse generator is provided for generating the external test pulses, and an evaluating circuit which determines the peak value of the instantaneous electric power sent to the motor. Thereby, short circuits, shorted turns and interruptions in the wiring can thereby be detected fast and accurately.
