ANTISTATIC FIBER AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain antistatic fiber having excellent durability. CONSTITUTION:2X10<-3>-15X10<-3> milliequivalent/g of titanium or zirconium ion calculated as titanium or zirconium is bonded to polyester fiber having 2X10<-3>-15X10<-3> milliequivalent/g carboxyl group on the surface to give antistatic fiber or the surface of the polyester is irradiated with ultraviolet rays at <=300nm wavelength to form 2X10<-3>-15X10<-3> milliequivalent/g carboxyl group on the surface layer and the fiber is immersed in an aqueous solution containing 0.05-10wt.% titanium or zirconium compound and heat-treated to give the antistatic fiber.
