PURPOSE:To solve the problems of the low purity, large average particle diameter and nonuniform composition in the raw fine powder to produce an zinc oxide-based lightening arrestor element, etc., and to lower the clamping voltage ratio of the obtained element. CONSTITUTION:An alloy consisting essentially of Zn and contg. 1.1-5atom% Bi, 1.1-2% Co, 0.4-5% Mn, 2.1-10% Sb, 0.-0.9% Cr, 0.1-4% Ni, 0.1-1% Si and 0.0001-0.1% Al is melted, and the obtained uniform molten alloy is solidified, reheated, atomized, injected into an oxygen-contg. gas and pulverized to obtain the fine powder. This fine powder is homogeneous and high in purity, and a zinc oxide-based lightening arrestor element, etc., having a low clamping voltage ratio is easily produced from the fine powder. |
