PURPOSE: To automatically emphasize a selected area in a holograph display image by selectively arranging a movable instruction lens in a small selected area of a hologram irradiation input light beam. CONSTITUTION: A hologram 11 is irradiated with an off-axis input light beam 12 from a white light source 13, so as to display a three-dimensional image 14 to an observer 18. In this case, a lens 20 is movable in the input beam, so as to emphasize a selected part 14a in the display image to the observer 18, and this emphasis is controlled by a microprocessor controller 100 which can be selected or programmed with ordinary keys and buttons, by using an appropriate biaxial (X-Y) driving, i.e., positioning mechanism. When the observer desires enlarge to zoom and or change the area of the emphasized figure or characters, the lens is moved toward a 3rd Z-axis as usual.
