In order to provide an electrode that, when an insulating member is provided over an area from an active material layer on a current collector of the electrode to an exposed portion of the electrode, makes it possible to minimize any irregularity in pressure on the electrode regardless of thickness of the insulating member and minimize non-uniformity in the electrode reaction, the electrode is provided with: a current collector (21); an active material layer (22) having therein inclined portions (25) formed on the current collector (21) so as to leave exposed portions (21b) exposing portions of the current collector (21), the inclined portions (25) being inclined such that the thickness of the active material layers (22) is reduced towards the exposed portions; and insulating members (50) covering an area from the exposed portions to the inclined portions. |
