PURPOSE:To present the personal identification device having satisfactory security not to be illegally used by preventing a ciphered key for deciphering signature data from being recognized even when a ciphering circuit part is investigated. CONSTITUTION:The ciphered signature data read from an IC card 20 by an IC card reader/writer 11 are deciphered at a ciphering circuit 14 by using a ciphered key 14a. Personal identification is executed by comparing and collating these ciphered signature data with signature data, which are inputted by a tablet 12 with liquid crystal display, at a CPU 16. The IC card reader/writer 11, the tablet 12 ciphering circuit 14 and CPU 16 are housed in a single enclosure, when access is illegally performed to this enclosure, this is detected by an access detection part 13, and the ciphered key 14a of the ciphering circuit 14 is automatically canceled. |
