<p>PURPOSE:To improve the electrode connection work by means of remote manipulation of a crane man by clamping a new electrode being supported, in a vertical position, in a rotating inner cylindrical valve, and conforming the new electrode axial center to an old electrode axial center using an old electrode guiding device. CONSTITUTION:A rotating inner cylinder 9, in a vertical position, rotatably supported in a pendant frame device 3, a new electrode 12, bearing a connecting screw 17 at the lower end part enclosed in the inner cylinder 9, is clamped with a new electrode clamp 14. A side opening, provided at the lower part of the device 3 below the inner cylinder 9 and which enables the new electrode to be passed, is provided; and a new electrode guiding device 15 conforms the axial center of the new electrode to the axial center of the inner cylinder 9, when contacting on the outer peripheral surface of the new electrode. An old electrode guiding device 19 conforms the shaft center of the old electrode to the shaft center of the new electrode. Further, the installation of an old electrode device 22 for detachably clamping the old electrode and an old electrode clamping device 23, makes the replacing operation of old and new electrodes in an electric furnace easier only by remote manipulation of a crane man.</p> |
