<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for detecting a body in one cycle without generating interference between channels when a multichannel method, wherein transmitting waves in the same frequency band are transmitted at every channel in a time-division mode, is used. CONSTITUTION:FM radiowaves in the same frequency band are transmitted into the different spaces in a time-division mode, and a body is detected at every time-division channel. In this FM radar apparatus, the radar monitoring area is set beforehand so as to receive the reflected wave from the body. The phases of the FM radiowaves are shifted for every channel in the phase relationship so that the phase is more advanced than the phase of the reflected wave received from the body which is located at the longest distance in the monitoring area. At this time, the periods of the FM radiowaves are overlapped. The FM radiowaves of the individual channels are sequentially transmitted. Such a means is provided in the radar apparatus.</p> |
