The triple-layered ribbon material with durable stretch,has a closed cell foam central layer. The outer layers are of animpregnated, durably elastic and precompressed foam. The ribbonstructure has a hard core in the centre and outer layers whichcan expand to match the material to the dimensions of the jointbeing covered. The closed cell foam, for the centre layer, isresistant to weather, ultra-violet and is waterproof with lowwater absorption. The outer layers, with resistance to beatingrain, are supplied in rolls of precompressed foam so that afterunwinding and laying it has a strong reassertion to hold it inplace in the joint. The centre foam layer has a sufficientcompression hardness, while the outer layers take up anyirregularities in the side flanks of the joint. The outer layersdo not need to be resistant to weather and ultra-violetradiation. The closed cell foam for the centre layer is in aU-shape to contain an expanding and precompressed foam and becovered by an outer layer to absorb any irregularities in theside flanks of the joint.
