PURPOSE:To improve steering stability while enhancing a reduction in weight by forming at least one belt layer from an aramid fiber cord, setting the cord rubber slightly harder than in the past, and reducing the groove depth of a tread face and the groove under rubber thickness. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of main grooves 6 extending in the tire circumferential direction are provided on the surface of a tread part 1. The groove depth of the main groove 6 is set to 6.0-8.5mm, and the groove under rubber thickness (t) to 0.5-2.5mm. In the tread part, two layers of an inside belt layer 4d and outside belt layer 4u consisting of aramid fiber cords are disposed on the outside of a carcass layer 2. The cord rubber of each belt layer 4d, 4u has a 50% extension elasticity within the range of 30-55%kgf/cm<2>. Thus, cornering power can be made better than in a conventional tire by specifying the groove depth of the tread and the groove under rubber thickness and increasing the low extension elasticity of the cord rubber of the belt layer. |
