PURPOSE:To automatically and accurately match the line width of an image to that of a background image when vector data are transformed into the image. CONSTITUTION:A line width extracting mechanism 8 which is actuated while a background image stored in a background image storage device 2 is written in a frame memory 4. The mechanism 8 automatically extracts the average line width of the background image in the memory 4 on the basis of, for example, the number of picture elements and gives the line width to a vector plotting device 9 (vector-image transforming means). Then the device 9 successively reads out vector data from a vector storage device 1 and plots the vector pattern indicated by the vector data at the position in the frame memory 4 indicated by the vector data with the line width given from the mechanism 8 so as to superimpose the vector pattern upon the background image. |
