PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of turbulence in a surface discharge, and improve a display quality by coating a range over a contact hole in a surface of a surface discharge conductor with a partition wall against a discharge space. CONSTITUTION:A surface discharge conductor X1 is provided to cover a range where a partition wall 29a over a branch part Xa and a discharge cell range EC on each side of it respectively. A conductor X1 is electrically connected with an electrode X by a connection conductor X2 through a contact hole 25C provided at a corresponding position to the part Xa. A part of the upper surface of the conductor X1 over the hole 25C where the surface condition is likely to be distorted is covered with a wall 29 against a discharge space 30 for preventing a discharge at this part. Turbulence of a surface discharge can thus be eliminated, and a display quality can be improved. Positioning of the electrode to the conductor X1 is facilitated, a high precision can be achieved, and an insulation layer can be thin, thereby manufacturing can be simplified. |
