The invention relates to a gardening tool which makes it possible to break up the earth. This tool consists of a sole plate (1) covered with several adjoining pyramids. These pyramids are fixed by their base to a support (2) which is connected at the upper part to a grip (3). This tool is applicable to the production of combined tools with: "a rake, a scratching implement, a hook, the base part of a weeding hoe (spud), of a ridger, or that of a hoe". Its operation brings the sole plate (1) into contact with the ground and, by the action of small successive impacts, causes the clods to break up and reduces their volume, until the desired earth particle size is obtained. <IMAGE>
