PURPOSE:To obtain a flow mapping by using a method of a correlation processing employing a Doppler signal in a two- or three-dimensional flow mapping to perform a mutual correlation computation of Doppler signals extracted at three-four adjacent sampling points within a sound field. CONSTITUTION:A vibration array 1 is provided to receive or transmit a pulse ultrasonic wave for the measurement of a flow velocity of blood while sample volume controls SV1-SV4 at the right angle to the direction of the flow of the blood in a blood vessel. Signals received are separated with a beam splitter 15 to a plurality of sound lines 3 and 4 containing the sample volume controls SV1-SV4 while the signals after detection of the sound lines 3 and 4 are separated with range gates 18-19 to Doppler signals of the sample volume controls. Range gate pulses are supplied to the range gates 18-19 from a range gate pulse generation circuit 22. In a digital signal processor 39, a mutual correlation computation of the Doppler signals is performed to obtain a flow mapping. |
