In an arrangement and assembly in which dust particles are sepd. from gases, a gas rotary motion is set up such that a whirlpool is formed within the gas flow. An axial abstraction tube is positioned such that it removes gas from that part of the flow in which the highest speed and the lowest pressure prevails, and in which the dust particles are concentrated. USE/ADVANTAGE - Dust particles are removed from gases. The arrangement reduces the size required of secondary stage dust removal assemblies, thus reducing the associated capital and operating costs.
